- Delete or anonymize your personal information from our active systems
- Provide confirmation once the deletion is complete
Data That Will Be Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:
Account Information
- Name and email address
- Password and authentication tokens
- Email verification status
- User metadata and preferences
- Login history
User-Generated Content
- Personal albums created by you
- Reviews and ratings you have submitted
- Shopping cart items
Event and Album Data
- Events you created (if you are a photographer or organizer)
- Albums you created (if you are a photographer)
Data That May Be Retained
Due to legal, regulatory, or business requirements, certain data may be retained even after account deletion:
Financial Records
- Purchase history and transaction records (required for tax and accounting purposes)
- Payment information processed through our payment providers (Stripe)
- Sales records (if you were a photographer or organizer)
Note: While we retain purchase records, we will anonymize any personally identifiable information where legally permissible.
Event Content
- Images and photos from events may be retained if they are part of public event albums
- Event metadata and details may be retained for historical purposes
Legal Requirements
- Data required to comply with legal obligations
- Data necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims
- Data stored in backup systems (will be deleted during the next backup cycle)
How to Request Data Deletion
To request deletion of your account and personal data, you can:
Option 1: Through Your Account
- Log in to your MyShot account
- Navigate to "My Account"
- Go to account settings
- Select "Delete Account" or "Request Data Deletion"
- Follow the prompts to confirm your deletion request
Option 2: Contact Support
If you cannot access your account or prefer to contact us directly, please send an email to our support team with the following information:
- Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
- Your full name
- Email address associated with your account
- Reason for deletion (optional)

Note: Some data may persist in backup systems for up to 90 days, but will not be accessible or used during that time.
Consequences of Data Deletion
Please be aware that deleting your account is irreversible. Once deleted, you will:
- Lose access to all your purchased images and albums
- Not be able to recover any personal albums or collections
- Lose access to your purchase history
- Need to create a new account if you wish to use the service again
Important: We recommend downloading any purchased images or important data before requesting account deletion.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party services that may store your data independently. When you request deletion:
- We will request deletion from our service providers (e.g., AWS S3, Stripe)
- Some third-party services may have their own data retention policies
- We cannot guarantee immediate deletion from all third-party systems
Minors' Data
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately. We will delete such information promptly upon verification of the parent-child relationship.
Changes to This Policy
